Total harmonic distortion
measurement (THD)

This instrument assesses the quality of the electric energy by analysing the total harmonic distortion of both the 3 voltages and 3 currents. These functions are extremely useful, owing to the constant increase in the number of the distorting loads present at industrial plants, for checking the quality of the energy supplied by the electricity distribution authority.

Easy to use and versatile

Keyboard programming is extremely easy and intuitive.
The following settings may be programmed:
¡Ü Type of connection (star and delta)
¡Ü Low voltage or medium voltage mode
¡Ü CT and VT ratio (free setting)
¡Ü Integration time (1 to 99 min.)
¡Ü Calendar clock
¡Ü Alarm threshold for Active Power
¡Ü RS485 speed, parity and data format characteristics
More sophisticated functions may also be programmed via connection to a PC.

Communication

KILO T is supplied with a RS485 output for remote networking to a computer. The unit is equipped with MODBUS transmission protocol developed by AEG-MODICON.

This protocol is commonly used by many PLC manufacturers and is compatible with existing SCADA programs for industrial management and control applications. Data processed by KILO T are read as numerical registers

comprising a mantissa and exponent. A standard twisted pairprovides reliable communication for up to 32 instruments over a distance of 1000 m. without amplification. The connectionof additional line amplifiers allows further blocks of 128 units
to be connected up to a maximum of 247 instruments and/or line stretches of one Km.

Alarms and output relay

KILO T offers alarm and control functions for Average Active Power (demand) via two alarms relays with output contacts rated at 8A, 250 Vac ensuring an efficient alarm signalling, load control and load shedding. The two alarm thresholds are keyboard-programmable. The two alarm relays may also be
set to other parameters by computer (see ADVANCED FUNCTIONS).
